The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Developmental Disabilities Tribal Health Program (DDD-THP) (Health Plan ID #110007, site code 62)
The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Developmental Disabilities Tribal Health Program (DDD-THP) is the health plan which administers fee-for-service physical health, behavioral health, and long-term care services and supports (LTSS) for DDD-THP enrolled American Indian/Alaska Native members.
The Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has maintained the fee-for-service Tribal Health Program (THP) for more than 20 years. On April 1st, 2022, responsibility for managing acute Physical/Behavioral/Children’s Rehabilitation Services (CRS) services for THP members, including members with a serious mental illness (SMI) designation, was transitioned to AHCCCS. The intent of this transition was to seamlessly integrate responsibility for acute THP services into the operations of the AHCCCS Division of Fee for Service Management (DFSM) Tribal Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) program in order to improve member access to care. The DDD-THP retains responsibility for management and coordination of all Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) for THP members.
DDD-THP is a fee-for-service program that allows eligible members to receive services at any AHCCCS registered fee-for-service provider in Arizona.
American Indian/Alaska Native members can also receive physical and behavioral health services from any Indian Health Service (IHS) provider or tribally owned/operated facility at any time without prior approval.
DDD-THP members receive assessed Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS), or Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), from one or more DDD Qualified Vendors.
The AHCCCS Division of Fee-for-Service Management (DFSM) administers acute services available through the DDD Tribal Health Program.
Please visit the DES DDD-THP website for more information about the program.
