Transitional Medical Assistance and Continuous Coverage programs are extensions of the Caretaker Relative program. Caretaker relatives and the children they live with may become ineligible for Medical Assistance due to excess income. These programs allow customers to have up to 12 months of additional coverage.
If the family's income is too high for AHCCCS Health Insurance, the children may qualify for KidsCare at a low monthly premium.
If the child is under age 26 and was in foster care in the custody of the Department of Child Safety (DCS) or an Arizona Tribe on the day the person turned age 18, the child may qualify for AHCCCS Health Insurance regardless of how much money the child has.
